Lynda does not know where the two John Brennan's were born but since Tuam was mentioned by her family she is investigating this link and hopes there is something here that one of us recognises.
Great Great grandfather: John BRENNAN: Occupation given on his son's Wedding certificate is Chair Maker. Address on certificate, 129 Charter Street, Manchester.
Great grandfather: John BRENNAN born c. 1845, married Mary Ellen OWEN in 1867. They had 9 children: Mary Ann, John, Henry, Sarah, James (my grandfather), Margaret, Philip, Charles and Hannah. On the 1881 census they were living at 2 Marshall Court, Charter Street, Manchester. John jnr. gave his occupation as Chair Bottomer (Cane). On the 1891 census they were living at 17 and 19 Crown Lane, Manchester.
Grandfather In 1901 James married Harriet CARTER and they had 5 children, the youngest, Eileen, was my mother. James was killed in action in 1916 and the eldest child, Thomas, died in a German POW camp in 1918.
